Here's a quick guide to SuccessFactors' release schedule for 2017

The SAP SuccessFactors quarterly release schedule is now available for 2017. Please make sure to mark your calendars for the dates below. SAP is continuing to provide an “early release” to any staging environment that is on the HCM Preview data center. Quarterly releases will then be rolled to the production environments a month later.

In case you missed it – SAP SuccessFactors rolled out a new HCM Preview environment that is hosted by a separate data center. This allows you to receive the quarterly updates ahead of the production updates. The roughly 30-day lead time grants customers the ability to review the available upgrades and universal features in their environment. Many customers enjoy this because they have time to test to make sure there are no impacts to the current environment, but also allows super users to prepare any training materials that may need to be communicated to employees. The early release allows for comfortability with the upgrades before the general population is impacted.

It is recommended that you communicate to your users that the system will be down for several hours on the above dates while the quarterly updates are installed. We also strongly advise that you refrain from any “go-lives” or rolling out major changes immediately before or after a release is scheduled.
