SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q1 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Performance and Goals, 360, Continuous Performance Management and Mobile.
GM UI v11 – End of Maintenance planned for Q1 2018, End of Life planned for second half of 2018
Goal Execution – End of Maintenance planned for end of 2018, End of Life planned for second half of 2019
PM v11 and PM v12 – End of Maintenance planned for Q2 2018 release cycle, End of Life planned for Q2 2019 release cycle
Change Logging (Audit Reporting)
General
- Permission for Audit Reporting in ‘Admin Center Permissions’ is required.
- Personal Data Audit in ‘Manage Audit Configurations’ must be enabled.
Performance Management
- Report on any changes to the personal data as part of Performance Management Reviews.
- Rating and Comments changes
- Ask for feedback responses received from internal users as well as form external users
- Attachment uploaded/deleted
- Audit logs are only generated when the form is routed to the next step.
- Changes made to Custom fields or Custom sections are not logged.
- Audit logs only supports up to 4,000 characters for text fields.
- The date range for change log reports is limited to three days.
- Change logging for external users is not supported in this release.
Goal Management
- Report on any changes to the Goal Plan.
- Changes made to Custom fields configured in the XML are not logged.
- The date range for GDPR change log reports is limited to three days.
- The date range for Non-GDPR audit reports is seven days.
360
- Report on any changes to the personal data as part of 360 Reviews.
- Rating and Comments changes only
- Audit logs are only generated when the form is routed to the next step during the Evaluation and Signature stages.
- Changes made to Custom fields or Custom sections are not logged.
- The date range for change log reports is limited to three days.
Continuous Performance Management
- Report on any changes to the personal data as part of their CPM.
- The date range for GDPR change log reports is limited to three days.
Data Purge
General
- Supports the ability to permanently remove personal data for a subject user as stated within the Data Protection and Privacy regulations as part of the Master Data Purge.
- Requires the following: Role Based Permissions (DRTM Performance Management), MDF (Generic Objects), Enable Data Retention Management
Performance Management
- All personal data for the inactive subject will be purged as part of the Master Data Purge.
- Requires the following: PMv11, PMv12 or PMv12A
360
- All completed and in progress 360 Review for the inactive subject will be purged as part of the Master Data Purge
Goal Management
- All Goal Plans for the inactive subject will be purged as part of the Master Data Purge
- The change log data in not yet included.
Continuous Performance Management
- All CPM personal data for the inactive subject will be purged as part of the Master Data Purge
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-In
Why is it important? It allows an individual’s personal data to be removed once there is no longer a compelling reason to maintain the data (such as termination of employment) and it supports the requirements of Data Protection and Privacy regulations.
Performance Management
Information Reporting
- Enables users to obtain their personal information in an open format so they can reuse it for their own purposes across different services.
- Requires the following: Role Based Permission (Admin Access to Forms OData API), MDF (Generic Objects), PM v12A
- Information reporting only pulls the fields identified as ‘personal data’.
- Configuration can be used to include or exclude fields.
- Generating Information Reporting for External Users is not supported in this release.
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in
Why is it important? Supports the data portability and access requirements within Data Protection and Privacy regulations by allowing users to access their personal data in a format that can be easily transferred to another environment.
Mobile
360 Multi-Rater - Internal Rater (iOS & Android)
- The internal rater workflow for 360 Multi-Rater forms will be supported in the iOS & Android Mobile apps.
- Participate in or decline a 360 Multi-Rater request.
- View, rate, and provide comments for Performance Goals, Development Goals, and Competencies.
- Provide section comments for Performance Goals, Development Goals, and Competency sections.
- Provide an overall rating and summary section comment and view calculated and adjusted calculated overall summary ratings.
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in
Why is it important? Mobile users can now complete a 360 Multi-Rater request at any place or time.
Performance Reviews (Android)
- Allows Android users to add, edit, and delete Performance Goals and Development Goals on a Performance Form.
- Competencies can be added or deleted on a Performance Form.
- Custom elements types in Custom Sections can be viewed and edited.
- Perform legal scans on text entered in ‘textarea’ fields.
- Requires PMv12A and Mobile PM Reviews
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? Android users can now complete performance forms at any place or time.
Goals Management
- Supports the adding, editing, and deleting of sub-goal tables and fields (tasks, milestones, targets).
- Allows users to add, edit, and delete comments.
- Must enable Goal Management and Mobile Goals
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? Mobile users can now add and edit sub-goals and provide comments at any place or time.
Continuous Performance Management
Migration of Achievement Feedback to Continuous Feedback
- Migrates CPM Achievement Feedback requested and provided before Q4 2017 release to the newest CPM Continuous Feedback entity.
- Requires the use of Achievement Feedback before CPM Q4 2017 release
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? It consolidates the view of all feedback to the CPM Feedback tab.
Feedback Ad-hoc Reporting
- Allows users with the proper reporting permissions to include feedback-related data in their CPM ad-hoc reports.
- Requires permission to run CPM reports
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? Gives people in HR and Management roles the ability to get a total view of the feedback that is being provided on an employee.
Minor but Helpful Enhancements:
- Mobile – Continuous Performance Management
- Achievement Feedback functionality restored.
- Ability to link Achievements to Performance goals and development goals for iOS. (March 2018)
- Ability to link Achievements to Performance goals and development goals for Android. (April 2018)
- Goal Management
- Improved User Experience for Posting (saving) Goal Feedback
