Q1 2018 Release Highlights: SuccessFactors Platform

SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q1 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Platform.

MDF / Extension Center to Support Data Protection & Privacy

MDF / Extnesion Center has addressed multiple features such as, Master Data Purge, Business Data Purge, Audit Data Purge, RBP Support for Blocking, Data Retention Time Configuration Objects for MDF and so on to support Data Protection & Privacy.

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Required as part of overall Data Protection & Privacy features to support compliance to EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Rules Engine

“Get Current DataTime()” function is now supported when configuring business rules. This function provides a timestamp of the current server date including current server time.

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Some use cases require e.g. a start date/creation date for a record which shall be the current server date and time.

Audit Reports for RBP/Proxy/User Management

You can now generate RBP Group Change/Role Change/User to Role Change Audit Report, proxy user assignment audit report and user change audit report.

Configuration Type: Admin opt-in

Why is it important? Self-service option to generate audit reports from Admin Center -> Change Audit Reports.

Instance Refresh – Expert Self Service

Instance Refresh offering is now a self-service capability that invokes automated backend workflow. We can request for refresh of a Bizx instance at-a-click if a button through Admin Center UI.

Configuration Type: Provisioning opt-in

Why is it important? This offering helps to reduce support tickets, bug free processing and fully automated with refresh status tracking and refresh search capabilities. Support Bizx refreshes within same datacenter.

Integration Center – New CSV format

Instance Refresh offering is now a self-service capability that invokes automated backend workflow. We can request for refresh of a Bizx instance at-a-click if a button through Admin Center UI.

Other Minor but Helpful Enhancements:

Check Tool: Some minor usability changes have been made to the Check Tool.
OData User API: When an API User expands directReports, hrReports or any other XXReports, the returned child records respect RBP Permissions.
Instance Sync – You can now sync configuration settings for the new Home Page between instances using Instance Sync Tools.
