Q2 2017 Release Highlights: SuccessFactors Performance Management

SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Performance Management and Goal Management.

Major Enhancements:

PM v12a: Ask for Feedback: Supporting Pod Permissions

Previously, only the requester could access the feedback responses gathered using the Ask for Feedback tool. With this release, Ask for Feedback responses can be shared to any permissioned users, including the employee via the Supporting Information pod.

• When enabled and permissioned, Ask for Feedback responses will be visible to permissioned users in the PM form. Permissions can be granted by role and route map step. Permissions are only applied to the PM form (the Team Overview page will behave as before).
• Heads up! Once this is enabled, the feedback will immediately be visible to all permissioned roles for all in-progress, completed and new forms. Best practice is to create a new PM form template before making this change.

Configuration Type: Admin Opt-In

Why is it important? Feedback is an essential piece of the review process. This change provides more options and flexibility for sharing valuable performance feedback gathered during the review cycle.

PM v12a: Stack Ranker/Team Rater User Interface Improvements

The user interface has been updated to have a more consistent look and feel to match the rest of the system. Updates were made to the: Rating Table, Comment Pop-Up and Print Preview Pop-Up.

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Minor user interface changes to provide a better usability and experience to end users.

Continuous Performance Management (CPM): Configurability of Activity Status Values

Now system administrators can configure the following:

• Create new custom Activity Status values
• Delete unwanted Activity Status values
• Re-Order the Activity Status values drop-down menu
• Define the default Activity Status value
• Choose which value will prompt Achievement creation dialog box
• Choose which value(s) and corresponding activities will clear from the queue after ‘capture meeting’ is executed

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Increased configurability to customize the CPM solution to meet unique business needs. Potential uses might include aligning an activity status with a goal status, streamlining status list and/or use the status to indicate if activity was discussed.

CPM: Configuration Validation Tool

Through the CPM validation tool, admins can verify that CPM configuration and permission settings are correct.

Why is it important? Helps system admins correctly configure and/or troubleshoot Continuous Performance Management application. 

Minor Enhancements:

PMV12a: Route Forms Notification (Universal): Admins can now disable the document routing notification when routing forms via Route Forms in Admin Center

Goal Management: New Action Icon (Universal): Action Icon updated to improve look & feel (this applies to other modules as well, not just Goal Management).
