Q3 2018 Release Highlights: SAP Jam

SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q3 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SAP Jam.

Hierarchical Categorization of KB Articles

Filter and search for KB articles based on hierarchical categories. Company admins can create up to three levels of hierarchical categorization for KB articles, up to 150 categories at each level.

Why is it important? Builds consistency and efficiency in knowledge organization and improves ease of knowledge discovery. 

PDF Inline View

PDF documents should can now be handled using the inline viewer.

Why is it important? PDF documents are “actionable” directly in SAP Jam. Hyperlinks in PDFs are “clickable.” Entry fields can be populated. Document can be printed.

User Decides if Document Upload Generates Feed Update or Not

Users can decide whether a document upload is considered a significant event that warrants a group feed update. Works for initial and each subsequent upload.

Why is it important? Allow “staging” communications without generating noise in the feed.

Minor and Other Noteworthy Enhancements:

• You can now set language on a KB Articles thereby enabling users to consume localized knowledge based on preferred language.
• Support for paste-to-upload images in KB editors.
• You can now copy and move KB articles between groups.
• KB articles can be printed.
• Fully custom domains: You can choose to configure Jam with a fully custom domain to represent your company brand, i.e.: https://collaboration.mycompany.com Or: choose a custom subdomain to distinguish your instance of Jam: https://mycompany.sapjam.com/
