SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Platform.
SFTP File Retention Policy Change
Revised SFTP file retention policy to purge all files stored in SuccessFactors SFTP account(s) after 14 days from the time of creation. This policy will cover all datacenters, all customers, all SFTP accounts. The Learning Management System (LMS) iContent account has been excluded from the retention policy because of product dependency.
Why is it important? Change is being made as part of the regulatory compliance requirements (including GDPR) and to further enhance security and scalability.
Rules Engine
For effective dated MDF Objects, it is possible to read data via lookup () with the option "Effective date is equal to". Till now, the same was not possible in case the MDF object is effective dated "from parent “, but is now coming with b1805. With that enhancement, it is now additional possible to navigate into the MDF (parent) object as well as its composite child’s. This will allow customers to define more detailed conditions for lockup ().
Why is it important? If it is not possible to select the effective date on child level rules will read outdated data, which leads to business process issues.
RBP Enablement as a Self-Service Feature
SuperAdmin can enable RBP in Admin Center instead of provisioning.
Why is it important? Currently, RBP can only be enabled from provisioning which requires customers to file a support ticket or have a partner with access to provisioning to enable it. Professional edition customers who do not have access to support can enable RBP via self-service feature.
Support for Learning Refreshes Through Instance Refresh Tool
Support for Learning(LMS) instance refreshes through automated, self-service instance refresh tool is built.
Why is it important? Learning refreshes are serviced manually leading to delays and post refresh issues. Instances refresh tool offers control over refresh scheduling, faster and error-free refreshed target instances.
Integration Center – SOAP Outbound Integrations
Parameters in the SOAP URL for SOAP outbound integrations with various systems are now supported.
Why is it important? Any SOAP endpoint requiring parameters to be passed in the URL can be used for integrations.
Other Minor but Helpful Enhancements:
- Check Tool: The Check Tool has been enhanced to support running checks all application checks is a single request.
- Instance Sync Self – Service: Source to Target pairing for instance sync can now be controlled in Admin Center.
- Cancel Refresh Requests – Refresh requests which are already scheduled for future execution could be canceled if the request status is “Scheduled."
