SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Employee Central.

Custom Workflow Notification

Enables you to define workflow steps, actions and recipients for templates. Provides more flexibility to define the notification texts – empower customers to add more content to the email notifications.

Configuration type: Admin opt-in; Prerequisite: Document generation switched on.

Why is it important? Customers now have the option to send out tailored and meaningful mails, and only when needed.

New Countries Added: Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Luxembourg

Maintain country specific employee data (e.g. National ID, Personal Information, Home Address and Corporate Address, Personal Document Types, Disability Information, Job Information).

Configuration type: Provisioning opt-in

Why is it important? Helps MNC’s expand their localization.

US Benefits Enhancements

Support Workflow on Benefits Cart Level: A new feature for assigning a workflow on benefits cart level.
New Hire Event Processing Automation for Benefit Enrollments: allows New Hire to enroll into all relevant New Hire Benefits with a scheduled Enrollment window.

Why is it important? To support the workflow at enrollment group (cart) level for Open enrollment UI. For all kinds of ‘New Hire,’ ALL eligible Benefits shall be made similar to open Enrollment process during open enrollment window.

Time Sheet Process Enhancement: “Send Back” of Amended Time Sheets

Currently, when time sheets need to be amended after approval, the time sheet has to be set back to the status of the approved version. All amendments done by the employee are gone. The employee has to re-enter them. For this a new approval status is introduced: “rejected”.

Configuration type: Admin opt-in

Why is it important? The employee need not reenter all the records again, and just change the records where the change was needed.

Other Minor But Helpful Enhancements:

  • Position Management: Globally hide the option to ‘Deactivate Position’ in the Termination screen.
  • Show and Search by Code for Organizational Filters in My Workflow Requests. HR admin are used to working with codes instead of names.
  • Rehire creating a new employment allowed to create concurrent employments. Now you can create only one active employment via this option.
  • All Employee Central Payroll related permissions are migrated to a new category called "Payroll Integration permissions“, instead of ‘Miscellaneous permissions’.
