SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q1 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Recruiting Management (RCM) and Recruiting Marketing (RMK).

Rules Engine in RCM: Manage Rules in Recruiting (Requisition & Offer)

There is a new UI15 page “Manage Rules in Recruiting” that admins can use to assign rules to Requisition Templates and Offer Details Templates. (Admin Center > Recruiting > Manage Rules in Recruiting).

Configuration Type
: Admin Opt-in

Prerequisite: RBP is a must to use Business Rules.  In provisioning, the following must be enabled: Enable Generic Objects and Enable Recruiting Business Rules.  In Admin Center, the permission can be found in Administrator Permissions, enable Manage MDF Recruiting Objects and the Edit permission for Recruiting Rules Assignment Configuration

Why is it important? Clients previously needed to reach out to a partner to be able to assign rules to the templates. Now they can do it themselves via the Admin Center.

Data Privacy and Protection

Change Audit Logging of User Data

Automated process that will track the changes to data (candidate profile, application profile, offer approval, offer letter & interview) in RCM and store the data for reporting. The system will store the before and after values, the user who made the change and timestamps for each change via different channels (like UI, Imports, oData, SFAPI, Rest APIs).

Configuration Type:
Universal

Prerequisite:  None, any instance after B1802 will automatically have Data Base tables.  However, to report on this, permissions will need to be granted in RBP.

Why is it important? Clients who have privacy requirements (to provide reports on the changes on/by Data Subjects) will be able to store data in the audit tables.

Audit Logging of Read of Sensitive User Data

Automated process that will track the read to sensitive data (candidate profile, application profile) in RCM and store the data for reporting. The system will store the read field names, the user who has read and timestamps for each read along with the channel.

Configuration Type:
Universal

Prerequisite:  Each instance after B1802 will automatically have Data Base tables included with their instance storing the read of data in the Audit table.   Customers will have to mark fields as sensitive=true in the candidate and application templates.  Read Access Logging will need to be enabled in RBP.  To report on this, report permissions will also need to be turned on in RBP.

Why is it important? Clients who have privacy requirements (to provide reports  on the sensitive data read on/by Data Subjects) will be able to store data in the audit tables.

Data Purge

Candidate, Application and corresponding audit data would be anonymized in the system based on retention time configured in new DRTM purge by the clients.

Configuration Type: Universal

Prerequisite: Fields on the candidate and application templates will have to be marked anonymize=true.  Clients will also have to do retention time configuration in various MDF/generic objects in RBP.  Clients will also have to upgrade to the new RCM DRTM solution manually from the Upgrade Center.

Why is it important? Clients who have privacy requirements to not keep data of the candidates beyond a point of time would be able to configure it accordingly.

Consent

  • In order to be compliant with local data protection and privacy laws, it’s important to always inform the user that their personal data is being stored and explain why this is necessary.
  • Recruiting Management does this with a data privacy statement that users have to accept before they register in the application.

Configuration Type: Universal

Prerequisite: DPCS 2.0 must be configured

Why is it important?: Clients who have privacy requirements that require the disclosure of how the client manages the users privacy can use this feature to provide their policy and track the users acceptance with the support of versioning of the consent statement.

Career Site Builder (CSB): Header Editor

Non-technical users will find it easy to create a CSB header that mirrors their brand and organization. In addition to colors, logos and menu items, you can now move and brand all header components to meet the client’s branding and marketing style with the new CSB header editor.

Configuration Type:
Admin Opt-in

Prerequisite: Career Site Builder

Why is it important? Headers can be completely customized by a non-technical user.  All components can be moved and branded to fit the client requirements. Nearly all of the client branding requirements can be met with the new CSB header Editor.

Minor but Helpful Enhancements:

  • Applicant List Page: Filter for Country and Zip Code: In b1711 country and zip/postal code filters were delivered as part of the Filter Options.  The message text labels could be renamed via the message properties file.  With b1802, the label text shall be derived from the Candidate Profile which means customers will not need to adjust the message properties file.  The system will automatically retrieve what is maintained for the candidate profile.
  • Agency Country: When there are too many Agencies available, it is difficult to find the right tone. By adding the ability to add countries to Agencies, users are able to filter by country, so they can easily select the right Agency.
  • Upgrade from reCAPTCHA 1.0 to reCAPTCHA 2.0: RCM will now support the newer ReCAPTCHA V2.0. ReCAPTCHA V2.0 provides an improved user experience.  Google will be phasing out the older version from March 31, 2018.  ReCAPTCHA V2.0 will be supported in the Q4 2017 release from the end of February 2018. (Prerequisites: Do NOT disable CAPTCHA in Provisioning.)
  • Migrate from OpenOffice to LibreOffice inline resume viewer: Significant improvements in the workings of the Inline Resume working in terms of far fewer failure rates. Additionally, it would also support resumes in different languages including RTL. (Prerequisites: Ensure the Inline Resume Viewer feature is enabled.)
  • Incorporating Recruiting Permissions for Job Requisition OData API: Recruiting permissions, defined for the “JobRequisition” OData API entity are now easily accessible. They can be queried in the original API call by using the “expand” functionality.  This enhancement will enable more advanced features to all customers and partners who utilize SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management as a platform. (Prerequisites: Standard OData API Prerequisites as well as code samples are listed in the official help guides.)
