SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2019 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) Payroll, Localization, Benefits and Time Management.

New Country Version Localized (Zimbabwe)

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-in

Why is it important? Baseline country version created to maintain country specific data like National ID, Personal Information, and other PII.

EC Benefits

Enhancement on Life Event Configuration

Admin can now create different work or life events such as child birth, marriage, divorce, and dependent separation by creating multiple “benefit work/life events” in the system.

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-int

Why is it important? Life events can be updated in the new template instead of having to create manual entries. Objects have been enhanced.

Support of Enrollment Effective from Past/Future Date via Benefits Exception or Work/Life Event Configuration

Admin can update the system to accept past date of a benefit enrollment.

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-in

Why is it important? If employee enrolls into benefits a week after joining, they can be made eligible to the benefits effective from the date of joining instead of the enrollment date.

Support of Re-enrollment After Manual Opt Out

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-in

Why is it important? If employee opts out of previously enrolled benefits, they can reenroll into the same benefits as per their eligibility. They can enroll without exception during eligibility period or with exception outside of period.

HAS Employer Contribution Enhancement

New savings plan employer contribution object has been introduced to allow employers to maintain contribution amount.

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-in

Why is it important? Employer contributions are optional, HAS contributions limit is reduced by an employer contribution. Due to legal requirements to comply with IRS, the contribution object is introduced.

Advances and Benefits Management

Rule Registration Location Information. After rule creation, the admin can navigate to correct screen where the rule can be assigned.

Why is it important? Ease of accessibility for Admin to assign rule.

EC Time

New Time off ESS UI as default absence request UI

New Time off will be the default instead of the old version.

Why is it important? Based on SAP Fiori design and provides features like recording recurring absences, overlapping absences, and listing upcoming holidays.

Enhancement for Time Account Payout Scenario

The dialogue in the workbench has been updated with additional information like payout scenario, rate category, amount requested, and rate. An error message is also shown for invalid inputs.

Configuration Type: Universal  

Why is it important? Facilitates the process of time account payouts due to information available to admin and invalid data entry is prevented.

Rule Function to Check Allowances in Time Sheet Upon Absence

Allowances are wage type for payroll in time sheet.  Check available to ensure that work time is not input for absence days.

Why is it important? Data entry mistakes are caught.

Business Rules “Where Used” List is Available

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Check what business rule is assigned where to make it easy to maintain and navigate.
