SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Learning (LMS).

Course Home

Course Home is the new next-gen Learner experience for launching online courses in less clicks. The interface is completely re-designed making it intuitive to learners/users and allows them to check course progress, collaborate with admins or peers and provides information related to course. The 1711 release focuses on availability of Course Home for online courses only, however this will be enhanced for other course types in future releases. Course Home consists of two pages which can be accessed from anywhere within LMS:

  • Course Landing Page: Focuses on displaying all the course information including course summary, contact info, subject area info. Course metadata displays information about time commitment on the course, who is it focused for (target audience), course versioning info, ratings etc.
  • Course Player Page: Allows inline launch of content, easy navigation, full screen with expand or collapsible content structure.

Configuration Type: Admin Opt-In

Why is it important? Learners/users will have a better training completion experience as they are now able to collaborate on the courses, and check course progress. Users can now preview the content without adding the course to Learning plan or starting the course. Earlier, users had to navigate through multiple screens to preview the course content. Finally, users can also view “Course Appears in” section which displays if the course is part of program, curricula or collection helping users to quickly jump between courses if needed.

User Exclusion List

With this tool, administrators can exclude users from being purged when the automatic process – “Purge Deleted User Audit History” is executed. This process looks for users who have been deleted from transactional tables and deleted them from audit tables.

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? In case of a legal or audit issue, you may discover that you need to retain an audit history of deleted users and some of the countries also have strict guidelines to maintain it. This update will help capture all such exclusions and still maintain audit history of users thus preventing permanent deletion of audit trails on an as-need basis. This tool also addressed data privacy requirements.

User Personal Information Report

This update will allow learning administrators or BizX administrators to generate a personal information report on all users stored in Learning only.

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Most clients have external users whose information is stored only in Learning and not on BizX. Hence there was no way to report on users who are available in Learning only for eg: Instructors, external users/Franchise users etc. This update will enable admins to run a report from Learning to support users who are not maintained in BizX.

Other upcoming and minor but Helpful Enhancements:

  • Catalog Enhancements: Display of cards in the catalog search is enhanced for customers who do not use commerce, ratings etc. Earlier white spaces were displayed if commerce, ratings were not configured on courses. Display of flag for mobile enabled content in catalog searches through which users can easily determine if content Is mobile enabled improving user experience of launching content
  • Evaluation surveys: can now be accessed and completed on the mobile application.
