SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Performance Management, Goal Management, 360 Multi-Rater, Calibration and Continuous Performance Management.

PM v12 Acceleration: Mobile Performance Reviews

  • Edit and view section comments in Performance Goals, Development Goals, Competency, and Custom Sections (iOS & Android).
  • Send Performance Forms within an iterative route map step (iOS & Android).
  • Add, edit, and delete Performance and Development Goals on a Performance Form (iOS).
  • Add and delete competencies on a Performance Form (iOS).
  • Edit and view all Custom element types in Custom Sections (iOS).

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? SAP SuccessFactors is closing the gap between desktop and mobile features. Users can complete Performance Review Forms from their mobile device anywhere, anytime.

360 Multi-Rater: Mobile 360 Evaluations

  • Internal raters can decline a 360 Multi-Rater evaluation request (iOS & Android).
  • Edit and view comments and ratings for Performance Goals, Development Goals, and Competencies.
  • Provide section comments for Performance Goals, Development Goals, and Competency sections.
  • Provide an overall summary rating and summary section comments and view calculated and adjusted calculated overall ratings.

Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in (admin center > enable Mobile Features > Talent > 360 Multi-Rater).

Why is it important? First step into making the 360 Multi-Rater mobile enabled. Users (internal raters ONLY) can complete 360 Multi-Rater evaluation requests from their mobile device anywhere, anytime.

Goal Management

  • Enhancements to right-to-left (RTL): Initiatives, Print Preview, Location, Division, Department data
  • Display confirmation message indicating user(s) successfully cascaded their goal(s)

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Ensures solution is accessible to users in countries where right-to-left languages are spoken/used. User experience improvement.

Continuous Performance Management (CPM)

  • Give and request ad hoc feedback about employee(s).
  • Request feedback on activities.
  • Link received feedback to activities and/or achievements.
  • A central location to view and manage feedback.
  • Increased control over target population employees and managers can request and receive feedback from.
  • Unlink activities and achievement from Goals.

Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in (admin center > Continuous Performance Management Configuration)

Why is it important? Additional opt-in features increasing CPM functionality based on clients’ feedback.


In addition to the new photo-less and gender display Calibration features related to business beyond bias; SAP SuccessFactors has added the following alerts: Lack of promotion scenarios; Leave of absence (LOA) impacting rating scenarios; Dramatic performance rating reduction scenarios.

Configuration Type: Beta Admin Opt-in (prerequisites: Employee Central (EC), Meta Data Framework (MDF) are switched on, in addition to Fiori styling)

Why is it important? Make unbiased decisions during Calibration discussions/sessions.
