SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Succession and Development.

General Protection Data Regulation (GDPR)

The GDPR replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. The aim is to modernize the law and protect the privacy of EU Citizens, and ensure data subjects have greater control over their personal information. It's designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe and address technological and societal changes that have taken place. It removes the need for national implementation across Europe and represents the biggest reform of European data protection in 20 years. Many organizations that had few or no compliance responsibilities under the Directive now have obligations under the GDPR.

Data Privacy features GA in 1802:

  1. Change Logging: Logging and Reporting of any changes to Personal Data (First Name, Last Name, etc.)
  2. Read Access Logging: Logging and Reporting of any view of Sensitive Personal Data (Union Membership, Sexual Orientation, etc.)
  3. Data Subject Info : Customer can report on a user’s data stored in SuccessFactors
  4. Data Purge: Data Retention configuration and support for permanent data purge
  5. Data Blocking: Access to historical data (for example, past performance reports) can be limited
  6. Consent: Ability to obtain consent when candidate (a) applies, (b) agrees to receive future job postings (recruiting marketing/management), etc.

SOC v12 Full Succession Plans + Hide Details Option

A number of UI enhancements to Succession OrgChart v12:

  • View and export the full succession plan for an entire team, including successors, talent flags, and readiness levels, by selecting the associated settings in the "Display Options" for Succession Org Chart v12. So far, only up to 4 successors were visible in the chart directly, for the full list of successors you had to open the position card as a side panel.
  • Option to hide the successors and incumbent’s talent flags of a node on the Succession Org Chart v12, to facilitate online conversations about a team’s succession plans with the manager of that team.
  • Position ID shown next to Position title in Position card (side panel)

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Greater usability in SOCv12, covering essential use cases which were used in the v11 version.

"Pending" Status for Nominations in PP3

“Pending” state of a nomination was shown in the Succession screens (e.g. SOC), but not in the PP3 People Profile portlets for nominations and successors. Now, the “pending“ information is also visible in those portlets where applicable.

Configuration Type: Universal (People Profile)

Mentoring: Redesigned End User Home Page

A UI change on the mentoring home page for end users from a three-column display of program types to a vertically tabbed interface with different types of programs displayed when the tab is selected

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? This change makes better use of screen space and improves screen loading performance.
