SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC): Cross Topics.

EC: Data Replication Monitor: Introduction of Optimistic Locking for Confirmation Upsert

Employee Central Data Replication Monitor now uses optimistic locking for all content types. The integration using the Data Replication Monitor must be able to handle locking situations accordingly.

Why is it important?
 Optimistic locking prevents data replication records from being corrupted or invalidated when multiple users try to update the same record.

Snapshot pagination for EC API

With Snapshot pagination, SAP improved performance and data integrity.

Why is it important? When Snapshot pagination is used on entity PerPersonal, EmpJob and EmpEmployment, the performance will be better than offset pagination, especially for a complex query with multiple navigations.

EC Imports

Multiple countries can be selected in the ‘Select Country’ dropdown present in Download Imports template. While downloading an import template if an entity supports country-specific configuration, users will now have the option to choose different countries using Select Country dropdown.

Why is it important? Previously, users had to download the template for one country after another. Now, this enhancement will help in reducing the time taken to setup the data as multiple countries can be selected and downloaded in one go.

ERP to EC Employee Migration & Integration: Performance Improvement for Delta replication for Employee Replication

You can now run the extraction report only for the changed employees using the job scheduler report. By this, you will be able to schedule the jobs in batches only for the changed employees.

Why is it important? Now with this option to schedule jobs for modified employees only, performance has improved significantly, in the case of mass changes for a large number of employees, where data replication used to take too long.

Minor but Helpful Enhancements:

  • Mask User ID in Employee Profile URL: A customer will be able to encrypt the selected user ID in the URL when viewing People Profile.
  • EC Imports: Import description field is introduced in import employee data page. Job description column is introduced in Monitor Job Page.
  • BCUI – Confirmation message with config check tool link will appear on save of any background element in BCUI page. This popup will be shown only when RCM is enabled in same instance.
