SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q4 2018 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Performance and Goals, 360, Continuous Performance Management and Mobile.
GM UI v11 – Currently in maintenance as of Q1 2018, Replacement planned for first half of 2019
Goal Execution – End of Maintenance planned for end of 2019, End of Life planned for second half of 2020
PM v11 and PM v12 – Already in maintenance and patches can no longer be made; End of Life planned for Q2 2019 release cycle
Data Protection and Privacy – Information Reporting
- Official ratings for behaviors will now be displayed in the report.
- Information Report can now be generated with external users’ personal data.
- Searches can be conducted on external users by their name or email address.
- Prerequisites: Role Based Permissions (RBP), MDF (Generic Objects), PM v12A
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-In
Why is it important? Supports the Data Protection and Privacy regulations by allowing to users to move, copy, or transfer usable personal data in a safe and secure manner form one environment to another.
OData API Enhancement: User API
- New document transfer option to ‘remove visibility’.
- Takes effect when a user transfers a document through the UI in admin tools.
- Prerequisites: OData API configuration prerequisites; Hide document visibility must be enabled in Form Template Settings
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in
Why is it important? If you are managing user changes in systems other than SuccessFactors, this change will automate a previously manual process.
Mobile: Performance Reviews – Support Send Iterative Step to Completion Directly (iOS & Android)
- Performance Reviews can now be sent from an iterative step to completion without signature steps.
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? Forms can be completed by going from an iterative step to completion.
Mobile: Learning/Talent – Growth Profile [self-view] (iOS)
- The Growth Profile is a mobile only feature that provides the employee a single view of their relevant talent and learning data.
- Prerequisite: Continuous Performance Management; Mobile Features > Continuous Performance
Configuration Type: Admin Opt-in
Why is it important? Provides an inclusive approach to viewing learning and talent information.
Mobile: Talent – Career Development Goals Plan (iOS & Android)
- Career Development Goal Plans can now be managed from the Mobile Goals section.
- Prerequisite: Talent; Mobile Features > Talent > Goals
Configuration Type: Universal
Why is it important? Closes the gap on functionality available on the web and in the app.
Continuous Performance Management: View Feedback Requests
- A series of visual and experience improvements to make the Continuous Performance module more consistent with the SuccessFactors suite.
- Improvements include: Loading Animations, UI Consistency with Tab Bar, Rounded Thumbnails/Photos

Why is it important? Provides a consistent look and improves the overall end user experience.
Minor but Helpful Enhancements:
- Goal Management - v12: Allows users to delete multiple goals at one time.
