In the last Part 3 we outlined how Dell Boomi was different. In this article today, lets review how Boomi can be used at a very high level.
Using Boomi AtomSphere
The Boomi AtomSphere approach to integration is configuration based rather than code based. As you build and modify your integration processes, they are stored in the platform's multi-tenant repository as XML. This repository contains the entire end-to-end integration process, which is deployed to a Boomi Atom for run-time execution.
Build, Deploy, Manage
Build
After you log into your company’s account on the Boomi AtomSphere platform, you can design and build integrations using a visual tool that includes access to a library of prebuilt connectors. Using familiar point-and-click, drag-and-drop techniques, you can build simple to very sophisticated integration processes with exceptional speed—no coding required.
Boomi simplifies the creation of application, data, and B2B integration processes. We have identified the steps needed to automate integrations and made a series of common integration components available to Boomi users. To develop an integration process, simply select and connect the necessary components to create an end-to-end integration workflow.
Deploy
Once you’ve built and tested your integration processes, you deploy them to a lightweight run-time engine known as a Boomi Atom. The Boomi Atom allows your integration processes to run on-premises or in the cloud, hosted by Boomi or a third party. Integration processes can execute independently of the Boomi AtomSphere platform. Even when the AtomSphere platform is down for maintenance, Boomi Atoms continue to run.
Manage
Regardless of where you deploy Boomi Atoms or how many integration processes you run, the Atom’s unique architecture enables centralized management of all integrations from the Boomi AtomSphere platform Manage tab. With the manage functionality you can monitor the health and activity of integration processes and review detailed process logs.
