SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Compensation & Variable Pay.

Mass Actions in Executive Review

Compensation users with mass action permissions can now filter select users and run a prorated mass change on Merit/Lumpsum/Adjustment etc. for multiple users.

Configuration Type: Opt-In

Why is it important? This allows planners and administrators a way to better utilize their budgets and make changes to a group of users without having to enter values for each one.

Ability to Filter Recommendations by Route Map Step

Planners can now filter entries on Executive Review by route map step and evaluate only recommendations that are ready for approval.

SuccessFactors Compensation Update 2017 Q2

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? If the planner has an enormous number of direct reports, it is difficult to filter out records that are waiting for executive review. This features gives an opportunity for planners/executives/HR to filter and work only on the entries that have been submitted to a particular step and exclude those which are still in the manager inbox. No special permissions are required if planners have executive view and edit permissions to use this process.

Changes to look and feel of worksheet; Admins can control alignment of worksheet columns

Admins can now control the alignment of columns in the Column Designer.

Configuration Type: Opt-In

Why is it important? This enhancement improves usability and the visual experience for planners. Admins get more control of look and feel of the worksheet and have more control of worksheet. If there are too many columns displayed on the worksheet, planners will have difficulty viewing all the worksheet columns on their screen. With the option to set the column alignment and adjust the width of columns, planners now have a better view of compensation data which can aid in making quick recommendations.

Other upcoming and minor but helpful enhancements:

  • Total Compensation Planning: Ability to view total compensation including merit and bonus in a single template. Helps reduce administrative effort in maintaining these templates. This is in Beta release and fully functionality will be available in future releases.
  • Consistent Look and Feel to planner: Cascading budgets screen now has Fiori Look and Feel giving users a consistent look and feel
