SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q2 2017 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Onboarding.
Attachment Import API (Customer Community Idea)
A new API will allow the import of documents to attach on an Onboarding Panel. Each document will be g-zipped and passed over in a base64 encoded format in the API. All documents supported in Recruiting Management can be imported with the exception of HTML documents.
Configuration Type: Universal
Prerequisite: Attachment must be created in panel designer
Why is it important? There have been requests from many customers to pass Recruiting documents to be used in Onboarding such as background check partner documents. Onboarding currently has a Document Center but until now, did not have the capability to import documents to be attached to panels used in Onboarding.
New Hire Activity Events & APIs (Customer Community Idea)
Events are now generated when the following activities are completed:
- Furnish Equipment
- Schedule Meetings
- Set up Goals
- OData APIs for these activities are now allowed and visible for connectivity
Configuration Type: Admin Center
Prerequisite: Both MDF based New Hire Activities must be turned on as well as Intelligent services.
Why is it important? The New Hire Activities Feature in Onboarding is limited where an activity can be completed but it does not trigger any downstream workflows. By generating events in the New Hire Activities and providing access to the data, subscriber systems can trigger actions/workflows to complete the activity.
Full Mobile Paperwork on Android Devices (Customer Community Idea)
New hires can now complete the onboarding panels on Android Devices.
Configuration Type: Universal
Prerequisite: Android version 4.0+, Default browser or Google Chrome, SAP Signature Management by DocuSign with Remote Signing enabled
Why is it important? Previously, onboarding panels were only able to be completed on iOS devices for mobile.
Other Minor but Helpful Enhancements:
- Goal Integration Schedule Job: A new job is available to re-execute the goal integration to pass goals set up in New Hire Activities to Goal Management. The job can be scheduled daily until the goals are successfully passed to Goal Management when the Role Based Permission is assigned to the new employee.
- Download & Filter Options for Data Dictionary (Customer Community Idea): In the past, when a user needed to verify or check data fields in Onboarding, they could end up sorting through 90+ pages of information. This is not only inefficient but frustrating. With this enhancement, you can download and filter through different sections of data. This will help troubleshooting data issues more efficiently and will provide what tags the key is associated with.
- Offboarding Start Page Updates (Customer Community Idea): Many items on the Offboarding manual start page have been cleaned up or removed to provide a cleaner, more efficient manual start to offboarding.
