SAP SuccessFactors has delivered enhancements and updates across the SAP SuccessFactors® HCM Suite as part of their Q3 2019 product release. Here are a few key updates you should consider for SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) Core.

Adaption of Enhanced Manage Pending Hires in Recruiting

  • Enhanced Manage Pending Hires with Employee Central Integration in the Recruiting screen
  • recognize records that are already in Draft folder and in Workflow approval process
  • Enhanced Manage Pending Hires comes with configurable columns and configurable columns names
  • RBP is set to allow the access to Manage Pending Hires

Configuration Type: Admin Center opt-in

Why is it important? Improved efficiency of users conducting hires.

Estimated Completion Date

This feature allows both requester and processor to know the estimated completion date of each milestone in general and accordingly the overall process execution estimated completion date.

Configuration Type: Admin opt-in

Why is it important? Allows requester to plan better for documents being processed (either newly issued, renew or cancellation status) in advance by knowing the estimated completion date for each milestone and accordingly the entire process.

Enhancements – SAP Best Practices

SAP Best Practices sample data for test purposes available. Global set of demo data + additional country specific demo data (organizational & employee).

Configuration Type: Universal

Why is it important? Increases ability to configure the Continuous Performance Management (CPM) solution by allowing visibility of certain features. (Topics/Coaching don’t seem relevant for many clients).

Minor but Helpful Enhancements:

  • Change Logon-Behavior in Case of Global Assignment (GA): In case users have an active Global Assignment every login of the user will be automatically redirected to the host assignment by default.
  • Rules scenario for Event Reason Derivation: A new rules scenario for the purpose of Event Reason Derivation will be made available.
  • Off Cycle Event Batch - Sub Jobs in Monitor Jobs (and Provisioning): Each processor registered with this job and this job will be sub-divided into multiple jobs based upon Processor type (EC, RCM).
  • Changes to Filters on My Workflow Requests: In the Professional Edition of My Workflow Requests page, a few filter fields (Business Unit, Division, and Department) are not relevant for changes to generic objects. 
  • Custom Fields Reporting and Upload - Admin can now see custom fields defined on level of Business Entity, Quota, Block and Document available in the Dashboard and Bulk Upload Apps.
  • Optimizing of Filter Capabilities and Hiding Closed Tickets on AskHR: Single Filter and Group By option. Also, you do not see closed tickets when ASK HR loads
